Taxpayers

In everyone's lifetime, sooner or later, we experience some form of hardship or difficulty. Financial problems can be one of the worst kinds. When these bumps in the road occur, it can be extremely frustrating to make ends meet, or even pay something as basic as taxes. However, we all have an obligation to support our local government to make the community a better place. One form of tax that occasionally gets left behind is property taxes. Property taxes help fund schools, roads, bridges, police and fire departments, etc. So, what happens when we fall behind?

If we happened to own a property tax lien issued on your real estate, then you are already in a good position to start recovering!  American Tax Funding not only helps local governments in your community, we stand firm to help make it easier for delinquent tax payers to catch-up with their tax obligation. We have an understanding and courteous staff available to assist you with paying your tax.

One of the ways we do this is by providing you with the payoff information you need regarding the tax lien. We can be contacted by fax, e-mail, or phone. If the law allows it in your state community, we also have payment plans available in the event you need to financially pace yourself.

If you are curious about what we do, feel free to view the rest of our web site. In it, we have provided information about what we do and whom we have helped along the way. Also, see the frequently asked questions section at the bottom.

If you need information about how you can payoff a tax lien on your property, feel free to contact us by fax, e-mail, or phone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What immediately happens to me if your company owns a lien on my property?

Most of the time nothing. Each state has a different set of laws which governs the enforcement and collection of the lien. In some cases, we are not allowed to take any action not even sending a letter for as much as 2 years from the date we initially bought the lien. However, before we take any steps to enforce the lien, when allowed by law, we will send you a courtesy letter letting you know. If you get a letter from us, please do not throw it out!  Call or e-mail us! By contacting us, you could save thousands of dollars because we could set you up on a payment plan without getting an attorney involved (again, if your state law allows payment plans, which most states do).

Q. What does your company do?

ATF and its affiliates invest in local governments providing funds necessary for projects to improve your community. This investment is in the form of ownership of property tax lien.

Q. Can I pay my tax with my credit card or checking account by phone?

If your tax authority permits us to accept payments, you can pay your tax online via credit card using our partner, Official Payments Corporation LLC.   Just navigate our web site to locate your property and, if available, select the option to pay online, accept our terms, and you will be immediately assisted by Official Payments to enter your credit card information.   This service has been added as an optional convenience for our tax payers to quickly redeem their delinquency.   Should you choose to pay your tax online, please be advised a "convenience" fee will apply.   This is an "Official Payments" charge and no part of that fee is paid to American Tax Funding, or its entities.   At this time, we cannot accept your credit card or any form of payment information by phone.

Q. Where are you located?

Florida.

Q. How do you obtain your liens?

There are several ways, but all liens are issued by your local government through a tax sale.

Q. Why don't you send any statements in the mail?

Typically, we do not.  In most cases, this is governed by your state statutes and we are bound to comply with those laws.

Q. What if I can’t or don’t want to pay my delinquent tax?

Like any private company, in order for us to stay in business, we must protect our investment interests. Not paying delinquent taxes may lead to further enforcement of our liens.  Please keep in mind that our goal is not to own property. We prefer you to stay in your home and work out an arrangement with us to pay your taxes. Please call and see how we may be able to help you! We will make every effort possible so you remain in your home. We are a small private company who cares about people and the communities we serve.
